Deformity correction is planned on full-length standing radiographs. The mechanical axis and joint orientation angles are measured and compared with normal reference values to locate the deformity exactly, then the method is chosen: acute correction with internal fixation, or gradual correction with an external fixator.
Conditions commonly treated
- Bowing of the legs in children and adults (varus / valgus)
- Malunion after fractures
- Rotational deformities
- Deformity after growth-plate injury
- Complex multi-plane deformities
When to book a consultation
